Salòn Madre - Mexican Pool Hall

Intention
To create a brand for Salòn Madre, a Mexican pool hall, late night bar and street food venue in the centre of Manchester.
Outcome
Sam Grainger came to us with an exciting opportunity to design the visual identity of Salòn, an offshoot of the beloved "Madre". If Madre was the mother, Salòn was the naughty son, it was a late night pool hall and needed a strong, playful, messy identity to communicate that.
Scope
Visual Identity, Graphic Suite, Bespoke Typography, Signeage, Digital & Print Assets.

Sam and his team wanted Salòn to feel like it had been there for a long time, a mish mash of styles that have gathered over the years. We worked directly with architect Richard Eastwood to ensure the brand was able to integrate seamlessly into the space and help enhance the atmosphere of the stunning interiors. We created a large suite of graphics for the brand, to make sure there was enough for their in-house marketing team to sprinkle chaos into their visual output. From ink drawn icons, to hand painted word marks and a fully custom designed font with 2 weights, punctuation and accented letters.
